I have been working with a middle school class on basic birding and conservation. The students are interested in trying to attract birds with nesting boxes. Does anyone have the name of the person who is building and tending the bluebird boxes at Penmar Golf Course at the southern edge of Santa Monica?

I do not. But I recall that the subject of building nest boxes was offered in our historical period which, would require considerable research. Keith Axelson builds bluebird boxes which attract lots of use.Mary Date: Wed, 13 Mar 2013 20:28:23 +0000 To: goldcrownking@msn.com

Ann and Eric Brooks have several Bluebird boxes up in Kenneth Hahn Park and you already know about the plethora of Tree Swallow boxes at del Rey Lagoon and the Ballona Freshwater Marsh. Perhaps this is too far afield for your contact.
