Pelagic Trip out of Marina del Rey, Saturday 29 Feb. 7am – Noon

February 10, 2020

For all you Winter pelagic aficionados out there, a local low-cost trip!

Pasadena Audubon Society is sponsoring a pelagic trip out of Marina del Rey on Saturday, February 29.  The trip runs from 7 am – 12 pm, costs only $35 (paid in advance), and will be on the New Del Mar, which is larger and faster than boats used on previous Pasadena Audubon winter pelagic trips.

We will have our own excellent field trip leaders on board to call out species and make sure everyone has a great time.

This is a good trip for families due to the relatively low cost and short duration.   In addition to birds, we often find sea lions, dolphins, and whales.

You can sign up by credit card on the Pasadena Audubon Society website at:

It’s also possible to pay by check–please see instructions on the website above.

Saturday’s San Bernardino Valley Audubon pelagic trip found masked booby, black-legged kittiwake, short-tailed shearwater, three alcid species, and northern fulmars, so there are some pretty spectacular birds in the area right now.  No guarantees, but we’ll look for all of them!

PS: If you want to go on this trip, I suggest you sign up quickly.
