Black-hooded Parakeet (C.Almdale 5/11)

This species has spread throughout the canyons of the Santa Monica Mountains. A pair accompanied the pair of Mitered Parakeets. In the L.A. area – except for Macaws, Cockatiel and Budgerigar – if it’s a psittacid with a long pointed tail like a Mourning Dove, it’s a parakeet.
