California kelp forest fishes in the collection, with guests Mary and Amazon | Natural History Museum’s Curiosity Show

September 9, 2017

We dive into one of LA’s nearby forests, the kelp forest! Off our coast, huge kelp beds thrive and support a whole variety of sea creatures. We tour the fish collection at NHM and meet the rockfish, Garibaldi and bat rays that call the kelp home, as well as some tropical fish and sharks that visit during El Nino.

This comes from the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. If no film or link appears in this email, go to the blog to view it by clicking on the blog title above. If the film stops & starts in an annoying manner, press pause (lower left double bars ||) to let it buffer and get ahead of you.  [Chuck Almdale]
